Snickerdoodle Cookies
Ingredients
Dough
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 ½ cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 ¾ cups flour
- 1 ½ tsp cream of tartar
- ½ tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
Seasoning
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 ½ tbs cinnamon
Equipment
- Stand mixer
- Saran wrap
- Parchment paper
- Baking sheet
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 350
- Stir together sugar and cinnamon for the seasoning, store for later
Instructions
- Add butter and sugar to stand mixer, cream for 4-5 minutes until fluffy
- Add eggs and vanilla, cream for 1-2 minutes
- Slowly stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt
- Wrap dough in saran wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes
- Section dough into 24 smooth round balls
- Completely coat each ball with seasoning mixture
- Place balls on parchment-lined baking sheet, then back for 10-15 minutes, checking regularly for doneness
- Remove from oven to cool slightly, then transfer to a wire cooling rack
