🙞 Beef Stew
Ingredients
Stew
- 2 ½ lb stew meat
- 1 lb carrots
- 6 medium potatoes
- 2 stalks celery
- ½ onion
- 3 beef bouillon cubes
- 1 tbs olive oil
- 2 packages brown gravy mix
- 2 bay leaves
Flour Coating
- Flour
- Salt
- Pepper
Equipment
- Plastic bag, gallon sized
- Stock pot
Preparation
- Add flour, salt, and pepper to plastic bag, then mix to create flour coating
- Peel carrots
- Cut potatoes, onion, and celery into large chunks
Instructions
- Add meat to flour coating bag and shake well to coat
- Add oil and meat to stock pot, then brown, as desired
- Add bouillon cubes, bay leaves, and enough water to cover the meat to stock pot
- Simmer for 30 minutes
- Add onion, carrot, potato, and celery to stock pot
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1 ½ hours or until meat and vegetables are tender
- Add brown gravy mix and stir thoroughly to thicken

Beef Stew 2 1/2 lbs stew meat 1 lb carrots peeled 6 medium potatoes lg chuncks 2 stalks celery cut in large pieces 3 in. 1/2 med. onion in chunks 3 bouillon cubes Beef flour salt pepper mixed together in plastic bag for dusting meat Shake meat in flour mix to coat. Brown in oil as needed. When done browning meat add water to cover meat, 3 beef Bouillon cubes, 2 bay leaves. Simmer for 30 min. Add chopped veggies & water to cover. Bring to boil & simmer for 1 1/2 hours or until veggies and meat are tender. Add two packages of Brown gravy mix to thicken sauce.
